Deephaven Mother's Day Shop-Hop

It's almost Mother's Day and that means it's almost time for the Deephaven and West Minnetonka Mother's Day Shop-Hop. It starts Thursday, May 7 and goes through Saturday, May 9. This is such a fun way to enjoy a day of shopping with your Mom, sisters, daughters or girlfriends. This year we have many new merchants participating, offering lots of new places to visit! The participants are: Cottage Chicks, Beeline Boutique, Polly Berg, Donamae Sweet Studio, Scott Anthony Salon, Spasso, Great Harvest, In 2Place, and The Sitting Room.

All nine merchants are helping local women in need this Mother's Day by donating a percentage of sales from the Shop-Hop to The Sojourner Project - the local battered women's shelter. We encourage you to help us help them, as your purchases will increase our donations. The Sitting Room has even re-designed a bedroom for the shelter!

Cottage Chicks is loaded with gifts for Mother's Day and Garden Decor - and we will be offering 15% off storewide during the Shop-Hop, and The Sitting Room will be having their Furniture Clearance Sale. Most other merchants will offer specials and discounts as well!

You can find garden decor, furniture, clothing, jewelry, gifts, bed, bath and body, beauty services, yummy baked goods, candies, restaurants and more! Check out the delicious caramel popcorn at Donamae's Sweet Studio - it is fabulous!!

Hope to see you!!

Cottage Chicks has joined the 3/50 project - founded by Cinda Baxter of Minneapolis. The group consists of brick and mortar retailers who are dedicated to keeping small retail alive and thriving in this economic downturn.

The basics of the 3/50 project are that consumers should choose 3 independent retailers in their local community that they do not want to see fail. The premise is that if you commit to spending $50 amongst the 3 retailers per month (not in each retailer either) you will help them thrive and survive. You also will be giving back to your local community through jobs, employment taxes, etc.

Stop in at Cottage Chicks for a flyer on all the details of this important project to keep our Lake Minnetonka community strong!
